rotating_flammable_quark Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Hello all gradcafe aficionados. I am nearly done with my liberal arts education as a physics major and astronomy minor. I am waiting to hear from UVA for mechanical engineering PhD program and NC State for a PhD in Electrical engineering. I have already been accepted into an engineering school in Florida. What course work is common for first year PhD engineering candidates? Also, is it normal to start research in the first year? On another note what else are you responsible for as a PhD mechanical and aerospace engineering student? Other than coursework and research projects, what else will I be doing in the sphere of the university? Please give me all of the wisdom from you much more sophisticated coffees!
