rcr2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Hello, I am going to graduate with a BA in psychology. Will probably end with a 3.2-3.2 GPA from my UC & 3.8 GPA from my community college before transferring. I have been a research assistant at my school's autism center for the past year. Planning on taking a year off before applying to MA school psychology specialist programs. Do you think my low GPA will make it harder for me to get accepted into a program?
Timemachines Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 My roommate in undergrad graduated with a comporable (if not lower) GPA and had no issues getting into a school psych masters. You'll be fine, but if conerned, just focus on strong performance on the GREs. She had limited research experience as well.
HiddenCreations Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 What programs are you considering? What state/area? What's your last 60 credits GPA? Most programs care about your last 60. And what is your major GPA? I live in MD and it is highly competitive in the DMV, a 3.2 GPA on an application would probably not be considered for interview unless there were standout points. Depending on your area, programs can be more competitive or less.
