uncreativeaccountname Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 My intention is to go into industry after masters. So far I've been accepted to UMich's Applied Master's in Stats program and UTD (Univ. of Texas Dallas) master's in statistics program. (The other programs I am waiting on are UCLA Stats (assuming waitlist/reject), UMass Amherst, Cornell MPS, and Waterloo), but they will boil down to the course or thesis/project decision). I did not receive funding for UMich. I'm using this as some baseline for things I'm looking to get out of the program. I am under the impression that Michigan is "higher ranked" (but it is hard to compare due to difference in program), so in terms of networking, I think that would be better (but correct me if I am wrong). If anyone knows more about these schools, I would appreciate your input.
PhdStats Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Try to look the schools placement. Get former masters students names, search them on the web and see where they are working now. This should help you a bit.
