Should I apply Management Science & Engineering MS if I do not have a strong math background?

Question

Posted

Hi,

I am a CS student, double degreed in Marketing.

I am thinking whether I am suitable to apply for some top MS&E  MS programs (Stanford).

I didn't take much math courses at school, but I have research experiences in machine learning, which is strongly replying on the applicaion of math. I learned those math mostly by myself but compared with those people with math major or minor, I am still weak in that. I performed pretty well in courses with math contents, such as Commerce Stats, Computational Science, Discrete Math etc.

Can anyone provide some suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi, to prove your maths skills, try to get a 165+ in GRE General Test & also take GRE Subject Test in Maths. Further, many schools offer courses in maths which you can take along with your graduate program.
