UConn M.A. Program

Hi everyone! I'm strongly considering this program, mainly because it seems like a good fit for my research interests and the funding/T.A. opportunity is pretty generous for a terminal MA program. I'm seeking any insight from current/past UConn MA students (info from phd students would be useful as well). I'm curious about how many MA students the program admits (I can't seem to find any information on their website) and about students' experiences teaching freshman English. I see that I would need to start teaching during my first semester, which makes me a bit apprehensive, and I'm wondering if people found the week long orientation to be enough to prepare them. Any other info would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
