Hi all! A prospective Media Studies MA student here in need of a little guidance.

I've been accepted to the Media Studies program at New School and the Media, Culture and Communication (MCC) program at NYU with similar funding offers (about 40% merit + some need). I have housing in New York, so I'm confident I'll end up choosing one of the two for Fall 2016.

I go to a small liberal arts college without any kind of media/communications department, so my professors know very little about the programs. Same goes for me, aside from basic stuff about faculty/quality that convinced me to apply in the first place. I'd be thrilled to go to either, and both have some faculty members who fit comfortably within my area of interest.

I can't seem to find much on either program, however. Does anyone have any information/thoughts on which would be a better choice? Which I might be getting a better value for -- i.e., is my scholarship offer rarer at one than at the other -- or which is more esteemed/respected? I'm also thinking of doing a PhD, but maybe not immediately, if that helps at all. Honestly, I'm looking for any details I can get right now. It's a big decision, after all.

I'm at a loss right now, so if anyone has any thoughts, please post! I'd appreciate it.
