Admitted w/no funding for Engineering PhD?

Hello,

I've been accepted  for a Phd in biomedical eng, and I'm ecstatic, but they've said they cant offer assistance. I'm not sure what to do, because I want to go, but I cant pay that much for 5-6 yrs for engineering.

I am going to ask for a second review, maybe get a new LOR for it?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows how possible it is that you pay your first year, and find funding by the second year?
