mxr123930 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Hi guys, I was going to apply for my SLPA license and had a question over the process. It says I have to attach a Supervisor Responsibility Statement form which requires the supervisor that I will be working with to fill out. So do i have to find an SLP-A job first and a supervisor to participate before I apply for my license...? I can't get my license without this sheet being filled out and turned in with the rest of the forms, correct? Sorry, I just want to get some confirmation from a SLPA in texas!
Speechster Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Do you have your observation and supervision hours? If not, you don't necessarily need to be hired, but you need to find a supervisor to do those for you. Sometimes you can get someone to help you with those, but they wont hire or pay you. If you do have those hours, I think you still need a supervisor. Sometimes if you know an SLP, they are willing to be your supervisor. Good luck! It can be a really stressful process.
