Hi Sarah, I emailed the department in the end of January directly, and I learned about my rejection for the same program you applied to. My application was forwarded to the MAPH, and I shall hear officially from them on March 12th (although some people are already receiving offers). However, my status on the website did not change at all ! So my advice for you, would be to contact them directly, they are very nice and they should respond. Good luck ! Also for the other people, no snail mail from Harvard, I don't know how cheap they put into the mail or if it is a snow problem, but it is VERY long. I called them, and they confirmed it was sent out last week, could take up to 2 weeks to be received. I emailed Nancy Shapman to know more but she won't reply before Wednesday anyway... Just to let you know. (between, I am off the waitlist at Princeton !!!)
yehk Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 i always feel a bit bad calling them up to find out how far along they are with deciding results - i desperately need to hear back from yale because there's been a bit of a cock up regarding my Peabody application and i basically can't reply them/do anything about it until i find out whether i'm rejected/accepted from yale (my top choice). I just feel so bad calling them up and asking.....they wouldn't give decisions through the phone anyway....

For some reason they just take a really long time to send the rejection letters, which is sucky. I talked to someone this weekend who waited months to get her rejection letter from them. ---Vikki

angesa01 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Note about Columbia: yesterday, I checked my application under the "Check your Application Status" form on the Downloadable Forms section and it had been updated. It said Complete on top, and the day before it said nothing...curious. And as of now, the Check your Status has been disabled on my login. I don't know if that is a coincedence, a tech error, or a sign that decisions are coming any minute now....

I just sent an e-mail to my POI inquiring about it today. I'll let you know what I hear. It seems two years ago they did letters and last year they did e-mails if you go by the results page history.

Mine hasn't, but someone posted on the results board that they received a musicology rejection via the website yesterday...I don't know if my no news is a good or bad sign! Has anyone else received any news from Columbia?
