sara
Hey! I was just wondering if anyone had considered deferring... I've been admitted to my top-choice school... but I didn't get any funding... As an international student, I was shocked to see how much it costs if you get no funding whatsoever! How do people go somewhere without any funding at all??? Apparently, there are very few assistantships available this year at this school. As an international student, I'm not entitled to a lot of the funding that American citizens are entitled to. Plus, lots of the deadlines to apply for funding have already passed. So, I'm thinking of taking a year out after completing my undergraduate studies this year and doing something related to my field next year, but also look for more funding opportunities - and hoping that I might also perhaps be considered for one of their assistantship again next year. Just wondering if other people are in the same situation as I am and what they are planning to do...
daseinplushie
It's my understanding that if it's an MA program, you can sometimes defer, but if it's a PhD program, you usually have to re-apply the next year.
