I'm interested in applying to MA programs in Sociology. I took an intro to Sociology course years ago and found it very interesting. Unfortunately, my BS degree is in another field, so I don't have a strong Sociology background.
I'm interested in a few areas of Sociology (medical, education, government, and within the community) but I don't really know much about the field. I looked over the ASA website, but it doesn't seem to be too helpful. Does anyone know of any resources (books, PDF's, websites, etc) that I can access to gain more information about the field? I'm aware of some of the areas individuals with a MA in sociology can work in, but I'm not exactly sure what the job entails. I know I can contact advisors from the universities I'm interested in, but they are most helpful with the program and not Sociology in general.
I'm somewhat surprised there doesn't seem to be that many resources available, from what I can find. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
