Second Round Applying

Question

Posted

I applied to PhD programs last year and was waitlisted at a great program, but didn't get accepted or waitlisted anywhere else. This is my second year applying, and mostly to the same programs, I was just wondering if anyone thinks I'd have a better shot with the school I was waitlisted at since I got close last year. Hoping someone could share their second round applying experiences.

There's really no telling. The pool of applicants may be very different this year, which could increase or decrease your chances. I would say if you got waitlisted you were at least close, so that should provide some comfort.
