Getting a decision a week after sending in my application

I just received a positive admission decision from Georgia Tech(PhD Bioengineering), but it has only been a week since I submitted my application. Is this a normal occurrence?

You might be a good match, What is the status of funding ? If not received, Please e-mail the Professor of interest about the research funding.

Generally finding a fund will be the delay in response.

Depends. The only thing I am confident to say that I've learned over the last two years is that graduate programs are as diverse as you can imagine.
