meghanmetier Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Anyone have any insight on how strict they are on word counts? Literally I am 25 words over I don't know how to condense it more without omitting some important statements fuck
E-6_Processing Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 From what I've gathered from my undergraduate professors, very few if any program committees reviewing applications are going to take the time to do a word count on every single statement they read, and that they suggest word/page maximums to encourage applicants to be as succinct and tidy as possible talking about themselves and their work. And while I don't know the content of your statement, I would definitely recommend combing it over to see if you can find and excise a sentence that contains information touched upon elsewhere in the document, or see if you can pinpoint any superfluous words (and especially adjectives) that may be driving up your word count and remove them.
meghanmetier Posted December 25, 2016 Author Posted December 25, 2016 Ah thank you! I was able to comb thru and now I'm just 3 words over, I'm sure no one will care about that.
