SUNY Stoney Brook--Please Help

Hello all. I'm currently enrolled in the M.A. program at Villanova and considering which doctorate programs I should apply to next semester. Among others, I've considered Stoney Brook, but wonder if anyone could inform me about the PhD program, considering the website's dearth of clarification. Is anyone currently enrolled or applying to the school? Or does anyone have a strong sense of the program's strengths and weaknesses? Does it have funding?

My interest is American literature, namely fiction, and Victorian and modern gender studies. A good fit?
