Hi I just received acceptance mail from Berkeley which had this description of funding:
As a first-year doctoral student, you will receive full financial support consisting of an academic year stipend/salary of approximately $24,550, registration fees of approximately $17,655 including health and dental insurance and $15,100 in nonresident tuition (if applicable). During summers, most of our graduate students continue working on their research, funded by GSR appointments with faculty in the department. The current full-time GSR summer stipend can be up to $18,390, bringing the total offer for a calendar year to approximately $75,695.
Could some explain to me the breakdown of this funding, I didn't understand how they got the $75,695 figure.
