And yes, of course i got up to check my mail at 9 o'clock on monday morning....jeez. I should get off the internet.

Hello!

I´m applying to the Spanish PhD... they told us that were going to tell us in "late JAN" and that the interviews were going to be "early FEB"

How do you know that those are the dates? I want to buy a ticket to go to Mexico on reading week and I am waiting for this guys :)

Best of luck!

i'm not entirely sure, but it looks like the science students have received their invites for an interview weekend which is the 5-7....I assumed it was university-wide, although maybe they're doing several, based on dept.

buena suerte!

I may be showing my own ignorance here, but I wasn't aware that Penn conducted interviews for English (but perhaps you are talking about Comp Lit or Rhet Comp?). I haven't heard mention of it before, anyway.

For what it's worth, the English department's website at Upenn says that they will be making their decisions in February. And as far as I know, they don't do interviews. So hopefully that is true because I'm applying for English and haven't heard anything...although I just saw on another thread that they got a ridiculous number of apps this year (700!) and are only admitting 5 students, so....i'm not putting too much stock in this one.

good luck to all of you comp lit and languages folks! I hope the numbers game isn't as bleak in your neck of the woods!

ugh- they sure are. From what I've read, pretty much ALL my comp lit programs accept from 4 to 6 people (at the very most) and because they're all big names, receive around 700 apps. so yeah. <_<

I went to Penn undergrad and know that last year they did not have an interview weekend for English, nor did they conduct any interviews. They did have a weekend for accepted students, but if I recall it wasn't until mid-March/early-April. The late February notification to accepted students sounds about right, also.
