Hopeful23 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 It is fairly common for undergraduates in economics to apply and work as a research assistant/associate at another university or agency (like the Fed, IMF, or World Bank) with economists to gain research experience, take more classes, and get more/better recommendation letters. Is there an equivalent concept in political science? If so where would I look to find them? I asked my professor and she claimed this wasn't a thing and recommended looking into econ Ra positions. So I just wanted to check and see. Thanks!
tkid86 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 There are always political/politics-related think tanks and research organizations that you could look into for research experience. I don't know whether or not they might take somebody without any research experience with which to begin, however (the great catch-22 of our time). I imagine it also depends on your background, your interests, what you're looking for, etc. It may be more like an (unpaid or barely paid) internship.
