Out-of-state students

If you are an out-of-state student, how do you make sure you are meeting licensing requirements for your state of residence? For example, what if my state requires a teaching certificate but the state where I attend school does not...what will happen? Or what if the state where I attend school requires a teaching certificate but the requirements for the teaching certificate are different from my state's requirements for a teaching certificate??? Does that make sense? This whole process is making me go a little cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs...and the waiting game doesn't help ?
