prince Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Hello Friends I have applied to UCLA EE Dept and have recently received an email from the admission office saying that admission decisions are expected to be released at the end-of-February to the middle-of-March. Mail also gave links of possible sources of funding that one may wish to apply. After reading this mail I was wondering, are they preparing me for a rejection and telling me that if you can get money form one of these sources then only we will read your application. Has anyone out there got a similar mail?

nh88 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I have also applied to UCLA and received the same email. It seems like they fell behind on their initial plans since they delayed the deadline for all submitted materials from the 15th to the 25th. @prince: I couldn't find any scholarships that were applicable to me, given that I am an international student. All of the scholarships listed seemed to be for US Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Confused Goose Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 @thecaesar Have you applied to any of the scholarships mentioned in the mail? Well, I took a look at them after I got the mail, but most had their deadlines in Nov. or Dec., some in Jan. And I was ineligible for the few that remained. Being an international student sucks as far as funding goes

I don't recall offhand which one, but you may want to look it up in their database.
