Hi, I am deciding between two programs below, and I listed some basic info about them, could you give me some more advice? Thanks!

Schulich Master of Finance

1. Good Location, Toronto city

2. Good reputation

3. Covering a lot of CFA content so more conveniently passing CFA with this program

4. Only 12 months, so less work permit time (I am international student)

Western Master of Financial Economics

1. 16 months program with a summer internship opportunity (biggest pro in my opinion because many people tell me internship opportunity means larger chance of getting full-time)

2. This MFE program doesn't belong to Western Ivey school, it is a collaborative program among departments of Economics, Ivey, Statistics and the law, so I am not sure the reputation is better than Schulich's

3. Location is not as good as that of Schulich

My Goal: Getting a job after graduation.

Some people tell me better location means more opportunity, but other tell me internship opportunity is safer because you already get your foot in the door. I am having a hard time deciding which one to go, need some experts to help me out :D

Thanks in advance!

Internship will be a great bridge for you into the full time work force.  My 2 cents.

Western!

Yes I think that too, but Schulich's location is also better, so doesn't that mean more opportunity? Also, what's your impression on Schulich? They call themselves the number 1 business school in Canada.

Thanks!

Schulich is a great school.  I actually did my EMBA from there.  I have seen a great set of hiring from both schools.  If you lack in Canadian work experience, that is generally the greatest barrier to crack into the work force.  Unless, you have secured some level of experience prior or during Schulich, it might not be able to help much.

Location doesn't mean much in this digitally global world.  If you are good, employers will chase you no matter which location.

Rotman, Schulich, and Ivey all call themselves the #1 program (of course).

Nearly everyone from Ivey gets employed in Toronto and then moves there anyways. People from the MBA program mostly network in Toronto, and they spend a lot of their time in Toronto. So I wouldn't worry about the distance.

I personally work in Toronto and go to school at Western. It's not a problem at all for me!

Wow, didn't know there are so many Western alumni here! Okay, seem like for my case, western would be a better option then! Thanks for everyone's contribution!

Thanks mrpink, I will PM you if I have further questions!
