Hi all. As one of the applicants to grad school at U of Toronto, I would like to start this thread to share information about applications to Toronto. I've applied to MASc in ECE at Toronto and I didn't hear back from them till now. Even my emails, no body responds on them (this thing happened also at the early application stages when I was looking for more information, or when I wanted to inquire about some issues related to my application). I read many posts that mention "Toronto", and I got a bad feedback from what I've seen. Some people says that they didn't hear back from Toronto till November, others said that they never heard back.

Any one would like to share his experience is welcome, and I wish the best of luck to all.

I did my MA at the University of Toronto and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the program. I had no problems at all with the application process. My questions were always answered right away by various professors and administrative staff in the department. I also know that the department I was in sends out MA accepetances and rejections by late March and PhD acceptances and rejections by mid-March. I don't think you can generalize the reputation of an entire institution based on one department.

Hi JTJ. I am really not sure that I mentioned the "reputation" of U of T in my post. All what I am trying to do is to get some participants here to talk about their experiences. In contrast to what u have assumed, I am sure that UofT is one of the best schools in North America. I just tried to make a small notice about the level of "Quality Assurance" in UofT, and this is not just in UofT, a large number of schools misses this point. Anyways, thank you for your post. :)

Actually, based on the wording of your post, you clearly were trying to make a comment about U of T's reputation when it comes to dealing with applicants. It sounded as though you were claiming that they completely ignore applicants, etc. That was not my experience at all, so I wanted to make that clear. I apologize that I cannot further your hypotehsis. Furthermore, you claim that the same problem occurs in other schools, yet you singled out U of T. If you were not trying to generalize about U of T's reputation and have others do the same, then why single it out?
