How long does it take to get rejected after the school sends out interviews and acceptances? A few of my schools have already sent out acceptances and interviews. This happened last week. Shouldn't I be hearing back from them soon?

It may depend on if you're wait listed or not? Some schools might wait until they get answers from some of the people they accepted.

I guess it depends entirely on the type of program, but I know people who have gotten acceptances - off the wait list - as late as June. (I'm referring specifically to Columbia Public Health here, but I'm sure other schools do this too)

So let's keep waiting and hoping!

I got my last rejection in July. I guess that's what happens when you end up near the end of the wait list.

Christ, you guys are negative. I guess it's different in every field, but last year when I applied I received my last rejection letter in May, and 2 schools didn't even bother to send me any response at all! Really, just because your schools have sent out some acceptance letters, they definitely haven't sent out all. Usually applications are grouped into definite yes, definite no, and then a maybe pile. Those in the yes group get the first wave of letters. The no group might receive rejection letters right away, or they might wait until all the positions have been filled. The maybe group gets put on a waitlist and those people are picked as the need arises.

Do school notify you that you have been wait listed? Or do you just wait in limbo until you hear back?
