iWILLgetin Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I have been invited to an open house / interview weekend (not formally an interview, but if i want, i can interview with one or more potential advisors) by one of my top schools. They are paying for the hotel up front (which I think is odd, but I could be wrong) and will reimburse any other travel fees. does this mean I am on a short list? practically in? does nearly everyone get invited to these? I kind of want to know where I stand.
jeanne Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 It sounds like you've passed at least the first round to me. I think it's very common for schools to reimburse for travel/hotel. I DON'T think nearly everyone gets invited. It wouldn't make sense for the school to spend all that money. Good luck!
johndiligent Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 You've made it to the short-shortlist. Congrats!
iWILLgetin Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Hooray! Now I just need to go convince them of what I already know: that I am the perfect fit for their program!
