International courses

This probably depends on school, but since I'm not starting my doctoral program until September, I was wondering if the PhD programs allow its students to take courses abroad? Say in the summer if I want to take a few courses outside of state, and have them count towards my degree? I'm in Canada btw, and will be starting in Ottawa this Fall.

It'll depend on your program, you'll need to ask them.

Definitely have to ask, but in general graduate schools, especially those in the US, do not like to accept credit for courses taken at other universities.
