higherED2010
I am trying to figure out how early I can expect to hear from NYU for the MA in Higher Education (if the news is good...). The website says that in "mid February" top candidates will receive a letter about interviewing for internships. I searched the results and can't find any past data, anyone know when in mid-February people usually hear back? Oh, and is it a letter or an e-mail. Thanks for the help! bossanova4
http://www.thegradca...ation&t=a&pp=25 Looks like higher ed MA applicants get notified in early to mid-March (if at all?)
NYCin2010
I applied to NYU's MA program in Higher Ed Admin as well and haven't heard anything back yet either. My guess is that if we don't hear anything this week, we're either waitlisted or rejected. Last year, it seems that they sent emails to invited candidates around Feb. 23rd, but the recruitment dates were late in March (26th-27th) compared to this year's (11th-12th). Let me know if you hear anything from them and I will do the same for you! The waiting is the hardest part! Hopefully we'll both get some good news this week. I'll make sure to post back if I hear anything. Thanks again.

higherED2010
Just wanted to let you know that I still haven't heard anything. If anyone else reading this has heard, please post! I'm still holding out hope! I'm also still waiting to hear, but also holding out hope. I called admissions and they said decisions should be out next week. Hopefully they were being honest with me, but if they were then I guess we still have a chance.

Would you mind giving your stats and some of your story or a brief overview of your statement of purpose? I'm just concerned that I haven't heard back yet and I thought I put together a great application.

I'm just concerned that I haven't heard back yet and I thought I put together a great application. I would like some stats and info too please and also how/when you heard. I feel that I too had a strong application and strong stats - 3.8 GPA and 6 years experience working in higher education.

And was this specifically for the MA in Higher and Postsecondary Education/Student Personnel Administration? Or for another program? Also as a follow up, when are you going to go and interview for an internship? We are just looking for some information so that we know where we stack up in this process and when (if at all) we can expect to hear back. The admissions counselor I spoke with said decisions weren't out yet, so I'm surprised to hear differently (of course they could just be saying that to get me to shut up....). Yes, but, how on earth would posting my stats help you get into the program? If I could help you, I would, but at this point it's out of mine, yours and any poster's hands. Yes, it's for the MA in Higher Ed/Postsecondary Education. My interview dates are for the 11th and 12th of March--already making arrangements for this. I wouldn't fret. Perhaps they are working out a wonderful package for you and taking longer than usual.

mjm603
Just going to put it out there as a current member of the NYU - Steinhardt family, a nasty attitude will truly alienate you on the campus. Also, I have several very qualified NYU friends who have applied to the Higher Ed program and have yet to hear back so I'm not quite positive I believe the news. Just saying. Hope you are enjoying your time there (and with some luck I'll be there next year).

How is that a nasty attitude, just cos she wants to me to tell her my personal statement, my gpa and other highly confidential information on a public message board? I have right to say no. People please get a grip. Sorry if I came off bitchy. Edited February 23, 2010 by 90sNickelodeon
AnythingIsPossible
Did anyone apply to the Masters program in Policy and Advocacy? It seems like the NYU's higher ed program is more well known than the fairly new program in Policy and Advocacy. Does anyone know the acceptance rate for this program? danceforlife
Hi everyone! Here has been pretty quiet for a while...how's everyone doing? I apply for the MA program on human development and social intervention, did anyone apply for the same program? I've called the admission office a couple of time, and received the same answer as they will announce in late March or early April. Does anyone have experiences/knowledge about the 'admission pattern" and can kindly give me some guidance on it? such as how do they usually announce results, etc. Thanks in advanced!
