MPP Grad Program options for local/domestic policy

Question

Posted
I'm wondering what public policy schools would be best for someone looking for a domestic/ local policy specifically with a focus on environmental and energy policy. It seems like a lot of schools focus on more of the international development angle. I have a 3.96 GPA, and would have three years of work experience at an environmental trade association.

* isn't it interesting how not a single person replied to their own question... (edit: oh that's a different person.... ha)

* then again, you at least have more than 1 post......

* if you already picked a school, what's the goals of your question?

* how come you haven't looked at any ranking yet?

I actually haven't picked a school yet. And I have looked at rankings, but I do not think those are very comprehensive or a good measure in terms of employment prospects. Most of the programs I've seen focus on national (fed gov)/ international policy not, and my interests aren't in those big picture items.

If you like the west coast, Berkeley-Goldman does great work in this area and can get you set up anywhere out there.

* most, but not all, have you not run across any that are local/domestic related

* almost all the top schools would enable anyone to do anything they want

* the top schools would always be the best for anything in every area

* please feel free to provide any case examples contrary to the above
