Hi! I have been researching several Midwest graduate statistics programs, and have recently stumbled on Notre Dame's Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics program, specifically their master's degree. I was wondering if anyone has any extra kind of information about this program? I haven't been able to find their national ranking, but I'd assume that a Notre Dame program would naturally be strong/ well-regarded.

Thanks for any help you may have!

Hi again!

Maybe, instead of specifically focusing on one school, could someone perhaps give me their opinions about the best applied statistics master's programs in the Midwest, or even the country? I've been able to find national statistics rankings, but many applied programs don't appear on those listings.

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

I would just go through the schools that are well-ranked and see which have applied stats MS programs. And see if they have good placements in industry.

If the program isn't housed in a ranked statistics/other department, it probably isn't very good.

I'd posit that you want to learn applied statistics from faculty that 1) have deep insight about and understanding of statistics, and 2) are doing important, high-profile work in applied statistics. Such faculty are likely to be strong researchers, and hence working at departments that are highly-ranked.
