I was in the class of 2013, got my biochem degree in 2015. Thanks to an undiagnosed condition, I really struggled in college. For the first half of the semester I'd do well, but then Id start slipping. Eventually I had to go on medical leave for a year. overall gpa was a 2.79 my Chem and bio gpas are about 2.6.
Anyways, now I'm being treated and things are so much better for me. I'm employed full-time in a university lab, my ability to read is (aaaaalmost) back to what it was in HS before I got sick.
I want to eventually get a PHD in something relating to genetics and signaling pathways (toxicology and plant genetics seem like really cool fields).
with my grades I know that to have any chance of that happening I'll need to get a masters degree first. My gpa is too low to even apply to most masters programs, and I really don't know how to apply for a non-matriculating grad courses since even that has gpa requirements too. Oh yeah, I don't even have research experience.
I'm currently studying for the GREs and that's going well, but I just don't know if the test fees and effort are worth it with my gpa.
