thinktank1985 Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 has anyone heard back from UPenn? nope...but I probably wont go there...i have better options now...i dont know why all the schools are sending out letter so late. Berkeley sent me an email saying that their results will be out on April 10. I assume I have already been rejected since I saw a couple of acceptances earlier.
iCyborg Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 After the UIUC nightmare, I got the admit from UT Austin. This time, the situation is just a little bit better. They offer me a stipend of 17k/year (it's only about 1200/month after tax). Please, anybody tells me if I will suffer with that amount of stipend in Austin. I am scared of starving over there.
couchpotato Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Anybody heard from UMD? POLY-NYU?? RICE??? RPI???? (ME PhD)
kid Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 3 Professors from UMD contacted with me.... It looks like they are seeking for students even now. Probably you could have a try if you are major in thermodynamics or heat transfer. Is there anyone will go to Wisconsin Madison? I got a TA offer from there and I would like to take it~ Looking for partners~ Anybody heard from UMD? POLY-NYU?? RICE??? RPI???? (ME PhD)
NKnight Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Hello guys! I also got admitted to UIUC (was asked to look for RA!), UT Austin (TA / RA) and FSU (RA). @ iCyborg, Congrats on the fruit and soap. Please, how were you able to get the RA? After the UIUC nightmare, I got the admit from UT Austin. This time, the situation is just a little bit better. iCyborg Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Hello guys! I also got admitted to UIUC (was asked to look for RA!), UT Austin (TA / RA) and FSU (RA). @ iCyborg, Congrats on the fruit and soap. Please, how were you able to get the RA? I emailed almost all UIUC profs in the area, and got several interviews. Then I ended up with an RA. I heard from them that, the funding this year is very limited because the state's owing the university 0.5bil. The situation isn't getting better soon. I am very lucky I guess.
