deutsch1997bw Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 How competitive is admission to the University of Toronto's political science PhD program? Is it on par with that of top 10/20 programs in the US?
guest56436 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Probably not much different than the other programs you are applying to.
diter91 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Speaking strictly on admission competitiveness, UofT is quite difficult. Unlike the US, where several top schools populate several cities (eg Boston, NYC, Chicago, etc), UofT is by far the best school in Ontario, to say nothing about Canada as a whole. The competitiveness comes from the fact that all serious Canadian applicants typically see UofT as #1 choice. Nevertheless, there is no GRE requirement, so CGPA, Master's degree, and applicant-faculty compatibility are all significant.
