Hi!

So I really need some input. I am very passionate about this field since I went through speech therapy for the majority of my childhood, but I'm really worried I won't get in anywhere. I was a student-athlete for four years and dedicating all of my time to athletics really took a hit on my GPA. Right now I am sitting at a 3.16 GPA overall and 3.17 for my major. I'm hoping that I can raise it to a 3.2 by the time I graduate in  December. My GRE really isn't that great either. My transcript consists of a lot of B's, some A's, and 2 C's (only one in the major). I have been spending a lot of my time writing good personal essays and making visits; I feel like if these programs can put a face to a name when they see my application it will help me a lot. I have done a lot of job shadowing and community service, which will be a great addition to my resume. Whenever I did my job shadowing, I got great feedback from the SLPs I was with and they even told me I would be a great clinician. This last spring season I did not travel as much to focus on my grades and I ended up finishing with a 3.8 GPA that semester. I expect the same to happen my final semester since I am done with competing. It's just frustrating because I know my GPA could have been so much higher if I had not been an athlete, but at the same time I wouldn't be who I am today. Everything happens for a reason, but I really feel like I am screwed myself over. I am applying to 11 schools and going for places that look at lower GPAs. Is it still possible that I could get in somewhere? Any advice on what to do from here? Or change my career goal?
