From what I gather from the Grad chair - they had a lot of really good applicants (that is, if GRE score is the mark of ones aptitude.) As such, they are most likely only going to be able to offer 2 years to most applicants - can't say for sure if this is true or will be the final outcome - but as you mention, I am not overly optimistic at this point.......will post when I hear anything - please do the same!!
