Has anyone started receiving acceptances/rejections from any Composition and Rhetoric PhD programs. I applied to Ohio State, Purdue, Bowling Green, and Miami of Ohio, and none of them seem to be contacting anyone about acceptances or rejections. Please tell me someone is hearing something about Rhet/Comp PhDs!

I know Purdue responds very late in the season (late March or April), so I'm with you waiting for them. When I applied to the MA at BGSU and Miami last year, I didn't hear anything until March. I think most of your schools do not reply very early with the possible exception of OSU. I've heard that some people have received acceptances to Ohio State, but I haven't heard anything either.

So far, I've only heard from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and Ball State, so I'll just keep waiting on the eight remaining schools. I'm thinking March will be the magic month for most of us. Good luck!

Kudos on applying for so many programs. My husband and I realized I couldn't move too far from home for us to afford a program, so I am really banking on one of these!

I am waiting on Michigan State and Purdue. I'm wondering when MSU will notify; usually, they notify early. I've seen some acceptance for their English program, but not Rhetoric and Writing. Hmm.

I emailed Bowling Green this weekend to ask about a timeframe for decisions because I have a school asking for an early commitment. According to Dr. Gephardt, the admissions committee is still in the early stages of decision-making, and they are meeting again early this week to discuss. He couldn't give me any definite dates, but they are hard at work looking at applications.

I believe that, at this point, OSU's English department has notified all accepted and wait listed students. This includes rhet/comp.

I've heard from 3 of the 4 schools. (Three acceptances-two with full funding, one with NO funding. Weird.) I'm an in-state candidate at the only school I haven't heard from yet, but I got an email last week that my application materials have been sent from the graduate school to the department, so I expect to hear this week or next.

That said, I applied to less selective schools than many of the people on this forum, so....it's easier to pick 3-4 candidates out of 40 than 6-8 out of 200!
