Submitting an app early?

Will having submitted an app almost a month early affect how quickly I hear back from a school?

Or do they not start looking at applications until all of them have been submitted?

I think it only matters in the case of rolling admissions.

I think it depends on the type of school. I submitted all my applications by Dec 20, even though I had some later deadlines. The schools sent me an email after chritsmas saying that the department had begun reviewing my application. (Does reviewing mean - begun looking at it?). Well in that case, yes I think it did matter that my application was in before the Jan 15 deadline.

I wouldn't mind it meaning something - I had all of mine in by Dec 1st - but I seriously doubt it at my programs.
