Ilikekitties Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 (edited) So I just got an email from one of the programs that I applied to saying that my official GRE score report was missing. I did have an official score report sent weeks ago however AND I got an email on the 8th from Graduate Admissions (not the Department) saying that they HAD received my official report. The application deadline was the 15th so I'm kinda freaking out. They told me that I had until Jan. 3rd to send the scores. I emailed back saying that Grad admissions confirmed that the report had been received on the 8th, but otherwise that I could take a screenshot of my scores on ETS. Do I need to worry about this? It kinda caught be off guard because I submitted my app more than a month ago and sent my scores like 3-4 weeks ago. **Edit: The program specialist emailed back and said that it was probably a case of the grad admissions not forwarding it to the department and that "sending a screenshot would be very helpful." Also, question: why would they rather have a screenshot of my ETS page over waiting for the grad admissions to forward the official report? Edited December 20, 2017 by GameofLoans16

Because the screenshot will arrive to them much faster than waiting for grad admissions to send the official report. At many universities, these are very different offices that don't always communicate super well with each other. Grad admissions has to process 1000s of applications for ALL of their programs and may not be able to take the time to search for your specific report at this time. The department may want to finish up all application profiles for their faculty members before the break and grad admissions may not get back to them until later in January.
