Anyone use it or any similar device? How is it? If it works it would be a great way to save time as Whenever I write a paper I spend a lot of time highlighting quotes and then typing them verbatim on the computer.

Sounds like you need to streamline your reading and note-taking methods, not throw money at the problem.

Do you have a suggestion?

I've found specific workflows are pretty personal. My own primary source texts are either digitized or something I've transcribed myself and thus already have typed. But if you extrapolate your process out to the sheer volume of materials required for graduate work, the simple collation and maintenance of the amount of source quotation that would prompt this question (to my mind) becomes untenable.

It may be an issue that will fix itself. Upper-level graduate work tends to move away from direct quotation of both primary and secondary sources, particularly when compared to undergraduate work. This seems to be the case for the majority (all?) of my cohort.

Most of my sources aren’t digitized, are available for short periods, and need to be consulted simultaneously as I work from different work spaces. I need to have all the citations available verbatim, not so much for text insertion, but to be able to consult the relevant passages of a text without needing to have the text with me. I’m not sure there’s much streamlining I can do so I’m interested in seeing if throwing money at the problem can save me that extra work.
