pettyaspraxis Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 is anyone else losing morale because you haven't heard anything yet, but other people who have applied to the same program have had interview invitations extended from a different POI than yours? should i just save myself the emotional investment and assume this more than likely means I got rejected, or is there still hope?
cognitiveDecline Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Yes! It's heartbreaking :(. It is kind of a mixed bag about assuming the rejection. I usually like to be pretty pessimistic and assume that I didn't get an interview so I am prepared when I get a rejection. That being said, in December I saw interviews go out for a school I was hoping for and figured it was a lost cause and then a few days later I got one so it is definitely not unheard of. Unfortunately schools are pretty inconsistent about how they go about inviting people.
cabbysaurus Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I'm also getting worried because I have not heard anything yet, but keep trying to remind myself that it is still early and many schools are just getting back from winter break. It's tough to maintain hope but also realism throughout this whole process. I think the important thing is nothing is set in stone until you get an official notice from the school. I hope you (and I) hear good news soon!
