  1. My MyFile for York University still says "no decision yet" - which is ridiculous because it's almost June! I can't find a contact email anywhere though... Horrible communication on their end. they could at least inform you if you were waitlisted, not accepted, etc!
  2. When you sign into ROSI, on the RIGHT there is a section for financial status. Within that box, there should be a credit for $150
  3. @AMetallo - I would definitely say accept HBSW and ask to be taken off the waitlist once you are on the hook for HBSW payment.. you'll drive yourself crazy. PLUS, from what people have been saying, seems like you have a good shot of the Advanced Standing MSW after the HBSW program!! Good luck!
  4. My York MyFile still says "no decision yet".. crazy to think they still haven't informed some of us either way!! I'm thinking by the end of next week we all should know for every school - acceptance, waitlist, or rejection...right! lol!
  5. For those on the waitlist for Laurier 2-year program, I'm 75% sure I'm declining my offer so I think there is hope for you guys!! Toronto was my first choice and I never thought I would get into Laurier! So, I immediately accepted my Toronto offer. However, now it's hard to decline an offer from Laurier, as I know they also have a great SW program!!!! I live in Burlington, so location isn't the worst as I'm in the middle of both campuses.. but I'm thinking Toronto has better connections in the GTA??? I'm thinking out loud here..... as I'm struggling with my decision. I know you all did your research, but in your opinion/from what you've heard from others in the SW working field... are they looked at equally on your resume?
  6. I'm pretty sure it's 4 weeks from the date your ROSI changes to "invited"
  7. If you received a scholarship with your UofT acceptance, it was on a separate piece of paper in the admission package sent in the mail. It's a scholarship based on "academic merit" that says it will be processed in September. In terms of offering money/TA positions, I think it depends on the Master's program... I am currently finishing up my Master's in Psychology.. and since it's research, we receive research scholarships and a TA position each semester, but that is not the case for all graduate programs. From what I've read on this forum, it seems like York may be the only program that guarantees a TA position?? but don't quote me on that!!
  8. If there is a message board created comparing UofT and Laurier please let me know!! Also, thanks to everyone who had insight on my UofT vs. Laurier comparisons!!! I'm still confused haha
  9. Hi everyone, Congratulations on all the acceptances! For those who haven't heard yet, don't give up hope yet!! I have a question UofT vs. Laurier.. I was accepted into UofT a few weeks ago and I immediately chose that one bc that program was #1 in my mind. I also didn't think I would ever be accepted at Laurier due to the number of hours of experience they generally require. However, I found out this morning that I did get into Laurier! What does everyone think about the two schools, comparing them to each other? - reputation, training, program courses, placements, The only comparison I've ever heard is - Laurier has better training while Toronto has better placements.. do you think this is true? do you have other comparisons? Thanks for your help!
  10. Since it's a "closed group within University of Toronto" it says, "Requires @mail.utoronto.ca/utoronto.ca email to join" then gives me a spot to confirm my email before I'm allowed to join... hmm. Let's see if anyone else runs into this problem haha maybe I'm doing something wrong
  11. This is a great idea!!! However, did I miss the memo on creating our UofT emails? I think you need an email to join the group.
  12. If you have the time/funds to re-take the research course, I personally would. Especially considering UofT's research focus, I think a higher mark may give you that edge on other applications with similar experience. However, your experience sounds great!
