I called Northwestern and they said that they are still reviewing a couple of applications but there are very few acceptances left to send out.

Yes, there is usually a friday night event. It is probably worth it to stay for both days, they are pretty fun.

The graduate housing at UCLA is also quite expensive ($1150/month for a 1BR) and not very close to campus. The housing in the surrounding areas is even more expensive than the graduate housing. Has anyone heard anything about the stipend at UT Austin?

I'll be bringing my fiance to visitation weekends and she will explore the city while I am visiting and meeting with professors. It is important that both she and I enjoy the city and school (if she will attend there). When I told the departments I will be traveling with my fiance they were very accomodating.

Couple years of research experience and summer fellowship. I think I had good LoR too. I submitted my other applications much earlier, though. Wondering why other schools are taking so long.
