  1. Thank you everyone! I am so glad to hear that others still cook in some capacity. I have had some people tell me that you live off of junk food the whole time because of the lack of time. I don't want to live off junk food for the next few years, so this is inspiring to see that others find a way to maintain cooked meals. I have a slow cooker that I use every few weeks, and will definitely look more into that. Snacks sound like the way to go for my Tuesday class (4:30-7:00) while simply eating before fits my Wednesday class (7:15-9:45).
  2. Hey everyone, For current, past and future graduate students, I am looking for insight on what people do, or plan to do, about evening meals. Whether you are in class for hours, or studying for hours in the library, I am interested to know what other people do and what they eat. If you had an evening class, did you eat before class? After class? Between class? What did you eat? Did you find yourself eating out a lot? Do you just snack throughout the evenings? Tips on snacks and recipes are welcome. Thanks! -Amy
  3. I am about to start and am already realizing how different my life will be, and I am not even moving! I work full-time and will continue to do so. However all that extra free time to hang out with my friends, cuddle with my cat, travel and take naps in the evening, well that is over. I am watching my calendar already get full of academic commitments that sometimes conflict with work commitments. I have to tell all of my friends I can only see them on Friday evenings and Saturdays (still with a disclaimer that school may interfere). I used to cook every night. Now I just realized that I will be in class at night, so I am brainstorming food options on school nights. Someone other than my boss is going to be telling me what to do and where to be. I have been able to do whatever I wanted to do for five years. The adjustment will be tough. I hope for the both of us that it is worth it!
  4. Hey all, I got in! I called the department and they told me that was a yes. I did not receive the email until about five days after I by got the letter, which was about two days after I posted. It said nothing about funding on mine either, so I'm not sure. Right now I'm weighing two schools, and funding may influence that.
  5. I have not received an email yet ! However, I checked online to see my grad status and it says "Applicant Accepted Offer." Is that what yours says? I am not sure how to interpret this. It could mean that it was an error typed in, and they think I already accepted the offer. It could also mean that they are sending me an offer of acceptance (however if that is the case, that's confusing and they should change it). Worst case scenario, it was an error and I didn't get accepted at all! Can you let me know? I see it under "Applicant" here: https://gradstatus.uga.edu/Applicant Amy
  6. Question...do you see your acceptance online at this link? I assume all graduate programs have the same link. I see the decision under "Applicant." https://gradstatus.uga.edu/Applicant If so, what does your status say? Mine says "Applicant Accepted Offer." I have no idea if this is an error that means they think I accepted their offer, OR if they are giving me an "Applicant Accepted" offer to consider. Please let me know! UPDATE: I just called. It means I got in! I am not sure why I didn't think about calling first.
  7. I applied for the MPA Program, and have not heard back, but checked the GradStatus Portal. Under 'Applicant' is where the decision is posted. I am sure the letter will come soon. Maybe check there? I would assume it is the same for MPH. PS. Mine says "Applicant Accepted Offer" which I have not accepted. So I am not sure if it mean "the applicant has accepted our offer" and is an error. Or if it means "We have sent an Applicant Accepted Offer." Let me know if you see anything! https://gradstatus.uga.edu/Applicant UPDATE: I just called the general admissions office, and they said it means accepted. Try the link!
