MSW at CSUSB - Fall 2015

Hi there! I'm in my final year at CSUCI in Camarillo completing my Bachelors of Science in Psychology.  I graduate in May 2015.

The CSU Fall application season opened yesterday and I'm going through the CSU Mentor process to apply to CSUSB.

Is anyone else on these boards applying to CSUSB? I live in Ventura County and the school is in San Bernardino County so I will be attending through their distance program.

I find it difficult to find any information on their program other than on the school website.  I once inquired last year if anyone was applying to their program but did not get any response.

I would love to hear about other people's experience applying to and attending the CSUSB MSW program.

I am attending their information session next Monday and am very excited to learn more about the program.

Thank you!

I wanted to know what other people experienced in the MSW program at CSUSB. Just general information.

I mailed my application to CSUSB at the end of January. They have received it and it is in the review process.

I called about a week ago and was advised that their decisions would be mailed out in late March.

That's so funny I went to CSUCI for my first two years then had to move home for financial reasons and I just finished my Bachelors at CSUSB and also applied to their MSW program.

It's more competitive then people realize. They only accept about thirty people into that program and they said students would know end of march until April/May.

Have you heard anything from them yet?

I applied in late December, and they mailed out my acceptance letter on March 23rd. I'd been checking my application status on the website daily, but it still hasn't been updated - they seem to handle it all through snail-mail. I clicked on this thread hoping to find out more, myself, as I also applied through the distance learning program and am dying to hear from someone who's been through this program or one similar.

I applied to CSUN and CSUEB as well, and have yet to hear a peep from either, making me nervous. CSUSB didn't ask for a deposit anywhere in their acceptance letter, which is a relief, and asked me for an answer within a month of their offer. I'd love to hear from all three programs before committing to one, but I can't see myself passing this up - I'm 28 and eager to get to back to school, especially since it'll take three years for my degree (and then a couple more to qualify for my LCSW). Fingers crossed for everyone here - and please, if anyone else is accepting their offer, let me know; I'd love to talk more!

I was accepted into the Distance Pathway MSW program at CSUSB. I completed the first quarter already and am on week 3 of the second quarter.  So far so good! I'm still adjusting to the fully online program but in time it will become second nature.

Hi doulalizzie,

I applied to the Distance pathway MSW program this month.  I see that you applied in 2014.  Did you get accepted that year or did you reapply?  Any information you can give me on the program would be much appreciated.

Dana
