  1. If your goal is to get a PhD, then don't take out a lot of loans for a masters degree. I would go to whichever program gives you the most funding.
  2. Do you have any tips for moving from the non-profit/public sector into the private sector?
  3. Definitely not. HKS hosts a "math camp" before the program starts for students who don't have strong quantitative backgrounds. I think students are invited to math camp based on either a low GRE quant score or if they lack introductory coursework in statistics.
  4. I got into HKS with a 162V/160Q. Also got substantial financial aid. Unless you're applying for Harvard's MPA/ID, which is a lot more quantitatively rigorous, I think you should focus your energy on other parts of your application instead of retaking the GRE.
  5. I'm 25 but I'll be 26 once school starts. I got in everywhere I applied, which I absolutely did not expect! I'm currently trying to decide between HKS, UW Evans, and UT LBJ. Work experience was a HUGE factor for me - when I finished undergrad, I thought I wanted an MA in international affairs. I then got a job at a non-profit and realized that analytics were critical to our work, which is what led me to pursue an MPP. People say this over and over, but it really is true - working for a couple of years before going to grad school gives you so much clarity.
  6. I was notified via email, and funding info was included in the letter. Mueva, I don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm on the West Coast.
  7. I received an acceptance this morning! Has anyone else heard?
  8. I'm with you! Would you attend HKS without funding?
  9. Accepted!!! I'm so excited! Good luck to everyone
  10. Accepted with $16k per year
  11. I spoke with a really snide faculty member at GWU when I was first looking at grad programs a few years ago. It really tainted the whole experience for me. He kept insinuating that I didn't go to a good enough university to be considered for GW (?) I went to an SEC school for undergrad and no, it wasn't an Ivy, but it didn't seem to stop UW Evans, Georgetown, and USC from offering me admission to their programs. Thanks GW!
  12. I took your advice and saw that I've been admitted! Thanks
  13. I also live on the West Coast, and the letter was postmarked Feb 17.
  14. I received my acceptance over email, but today I received an envelope with funding information delivered to my home address. It looks like they're sending funding decisions through the mail this year.
