The trolley doesn't currently go to UCSD but is supposed to in the future (I'm not sure when). Buses are pretty good and with the UCSD bus pass sticker you can ride almost any bus.

Oh yeah SGA should have the shortest wait time. It still looks pretty long though. The priority housing offers have to be initiated by your department to student housing. If you really want to try and get it and feel comfortable asking, I would say go for it. Good luck!

Hi gokuvegeta, If you're referring to the 1 bedrooms and studios in the Coast apartments then your only chance of beating the wait time is if your department nominated you for priority placement. Otherwise the wait times posted are accurate. Demand for UCSD's grad housing is much higher than supply unfortunately.
  4. Is your focus on composition/performance? I've heard of CalArts' program but didn't know that Oregon even has one but my focus is computer music research not comp/perf. If you are interesting in opportunities to collaborate like you said then CalArts sounds like the better option based on location. Eugene, OR is an awesome little college town but in a rather isolated location. If money is a big factor then it will be important to wait until you have both funding offers in writing so you can accurately compare them. Good luck with your decision, I know how hard it can be to make one.
