Hi all, I just received a notification regarding the 2014-2015 Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship. I was awarded honorable mention. The letter stated that 35 fellowships were available for 640 applicants. Good luck!

Ah well ... I'm a predoc alternate in Geography, too. I was waiting to call on Friday, it seemed like a good time to call. Now I know. However, your note cheers me up a bit for calling. I'm certainly interested in feedback and now I'm curious as to any other info they may share. Thanks for the news. Seeing that you're already attending, you may be in the same situation I'm in. Well, ... I am an alternate with honorable mention for the Pre-doctoral fellowship. I wonder how many alternates there are. Hope will now be placed on the back burner for a month or so. Best of luck to everyone!

Well ... re-jected ... I have to admit, though ... what doesn't kill ya ... makes you stronger. Congrats to those who recieved the golden ticket! (Honorable mention just doesn't cut it.) But, also ... Congrats to those who spent the time ... working, discussing, and spending their energy putting it all together ... we are better off for it. (Slightly.)
