  1. For anyone waiting on UWashington, I emailed to ask and they said "We expect to be sending out information about our decisions by the end of February." (though this doesn't offer much insight..)
  2. And in addition: were you one of the people who had an interview?
  3. Argh no word from UW. This process is pretty horrific. Edit: BUT, more importantly, congrats to the admits!!
  4. So I emailed Michigan, and they said "We are just beginning the process of notifying applicants so you should be hearing from us within the next week."
  5. Based on last year at least, I think Chicago takes so long to reject people as they pass on the unsuccessful applicants on to be considered for the Masters program, so it's essentially another admissions committee deliberation worth of time to wait.
  6. Washington University in St. Louis, or University of Washington (Seattle)? And by letter do you mean mail? Thanks!
  7. Would also love to know if this is an actual rejection or another one of the 'assumed rejections'. Haven't heard anything about an interview or being rejected, so curious to know what's going on there..
  8. Comparative will be my major field, with American my minor field.
  9. Hi Grad Cafe! I've long found the posts on this forum super useful in thinking and preparing about applying (thanks y'all!), and I have a question for which I've not yet found an answer on here. I'm intending to apply for political science PhD programmes, and my main area of interest in gender and politics (women as both voters and politicians, and the discourse and politics surrounding "women's issue"). I'm also somewhat interesting in other aspects of identity and politics (such as race, diaspora, and possibly nationalism). As such, I'm looking for departments that fit these interests. I'm also hoping to go to at least a top 30 ranked school. I'm obviously currently doing a lot of research into which schools are likely to fit my interests well, but I wondered if anyone was able to offer any helpful tips for places that might be good in this area? Would be incredibly grateful if anyone was able to point me in the right direction. Many thanks. Thea
