  1. Funny I *just* checked my New Paltz email to see if there was anything - nothing - though i didn't submit my application until very close to March 1 so I am not expecting to hear soon - they had a very late deadline for applications!
  2. I don't see any rejections or wait-list yet.... doesn't seem promising re: acceptance, but who knows. I am getting so unreasonably annoyed at my friends who keep emailing me - whenever I see "downloading" on my iphone I get excited and then I see its just someone making plans for dinner or whatever.
  3. Congrats!!! I also thought they would mail.... I almost wish they would b/c refreshing my email every 10 seconds is making it difficult to focus on work
  4. Right there with you. I wonder if they are using a new system this year which is why it's taking a bit longer? I am a little confused about The Next Step TC vs. apply yourself.
  5. Same. I am so tired of waiting. My F5 key has never seen so much action.
  6. No. I was very sad to see that I had NO mail today. I was looking online at apts in Nashville this morning (dare to dream!) - WOW it can be expensive!
  7. Nope. I asked a friend who works at the law school if she could find anything out - she said she would try
  8. Hi - you could take a look at SUNY New Paltz, Ohio State, and CUNY Lehman is also starting to offer online classes... I think
  9. Hi everyone someone mentioned Brooklyn college - I just got an email today saying that my application had been sent to the program admissions committee for review and decision and they usually make decisions within 6 weeks - so I think not having an interview yet doesn't mean it's a rejection. 6 weeks is looonggg
  10. Hi - I applied to NYU and TC-Columbia. I already heard back from NYU (rejection) and I have no idea when columbia is letting people know. On the website it says for programs w/out rolling admissions or early application deadlines it will be mid-May, which seems a bit ridiculous. Looking at the board from last year seems it will be early-mid March. Don't worry about stats! Schools look at everything.
  11. Hi I was the one who mentioned SUNY new paltz - in the process of finishing up their post bac pgm. Feel free to message me - I think there is some way to send emails on this site? Got a rejection email from NYU this morning. I got an acceptance from UNC-Chapel Hill last week - odd b/c I was expecting acceptance from NYU and rejection from UNC! I have given up trying to figure any of it out.
  12. Thanks tuckerma about the information on CLEP exams. I quickly looked at the ASHA website and confirmed that the do accept CLEP and AP exams for the general pre-requisite knowledge areas. Whether grad schools will accept is another issue... I am hoping to take the biology CLEP. I noticed you applied to vanderbilt - I did as well. Do you think they will send out their notifications by oldey-fashioned US postal service like they did last year? I also applied to NYU - haven't heard anything.
  13. Kcald716 - tried to reply to your post but ended up just re-posting! Still figuring out this site. CLEP stands for college level something, not sure, I had to google it. Basically it's like AP credit but you get to take it anytime. I'm not really sure how it works ... Whether its scored like the GRE or if it's pass/fail. One of my friends took classes online from straighterline.com for pre reqs for columbia's public health program. But straighterline isn't accredited so really need to check with your school to see if they would accept. I've taken most of my speech pre reqs online through suny (state university of new York) new paltz and I've really enjoyed. But even the community colleges in the suny network are about $300/credit and that is for in-state. I am really dreading statistics.
  14. I am finishing up pre-reqs also. I need statistics and a bio class A professor told me that for the asha requirements you can Take the CLEP, so I am going to look into that for bio -hopefully wherever I go will also accept that. Thanks for the info on Utah state! That is a great price.
  15. I am 39 and I am a bit nervous about making friends! I started law school when I was 23 and I felt a bit old, but in a good way, I appreciated being back in school after working for 2 years. Now I'm applying to speech pathology masters programs - I started doing pre-reqs in fall 2011. I have one acceptance so far - UNC Chapel Hill which is so exciting!
  16. Hi - I've been obsessively checking this thread so I figured it was only fair that I contribute I'm switching careers - attorney to SLP. I am just finishing my pre-reqs through an online post-bacc program at SUNY New Paltz. I got an email from NYU saying that they are working to get decisions letters out "near the end of February." Let the waiting begin! APPLIED: Columbia, NYU, Vanderbilt, UNC Chapel Hill, Brooklyn College, Hunter College, Queens College, SUNY New Paltz
