  1. I wanted to throw out a question for those of you who are ultimately interested in getting an MD--why pursue an MPH first? (This is coming from someone who isn't interested in an MD, but who has always been curious) Is it a resume booster for when you do apply to MD programs?
  2. For those who have heard back ( I have not)--in the email/postal mail/etc do they just send you an acceptance letter or did you also get information about scholarships/funding from the school? Or does that all come later??
  3. Do you know much about Michigan's Health Management & Policy program? Or do you know how flexible the programs are in terms of being able to focus on your interests? Thanks!
  4. Also to everyone while you are waiting---use this time to look for scholarships because those deadlines are coming up as well!!
  5. Thank you Katethekitcat!! If I hadn't read your post I would have totally forgot to pay Michigan's "second" application fee!!! Ahh and I had submitted my application 11/29 and it completely slipped my mind! Thank you thank you!!! Also, to everyone else--Good job getting those apps in early & congrats to everyone who has heard back already!! I just submitted my apps for MPH programs last week to: UW, columbia, Johns Hopkins, GWU, Tulane, and Michigan!
  6. Not Selected for a grant to Ethiopia :'( Congrats to those who got it! WIshing you the best!
  7. My country (Ethiopia) didn't hear back until April 25th last year. Are you doing ETA or full grant?
  8. Yes! Hopefully we will be hearing in a couple of weeks! Where did you apply to?

  10. Thanks, I'm just going to assume it's only for ETA's :/
  11. DId he specify if the orientation is specifically for ETA's only?? I applied for a research grant and definitely did not get an email.
  12. So jealous! I'm glad you didn't get it two years ago! You will have the time of your life!!!! Congrats!
  13. Shout out to the Brazilian Fulbrighters who are planning their trips so that they can be there for the world cup. I'm Jealous!
  14. That's a good plan. I wish I had a back up plan. I'm working part time as a research assistant right now. I might just go ahead and start studying for the GRE and apply for grad school programs. This fulbright process was/is extremely exhausting and draining. I don't think I can apply to anything else. But who knows :/
  15. Congrats to UK & India fulbrighters!!! So happy for all of you
  16. Impostor syndrome haha love it! Gosh I'm glad I'm not the only one--very comforting
  17. Public health--so I won't be in the lab. I will be out in the field. But yes, I need to remember to be confident :/
  18. To graduating seniors who applied for the full research grant: have any of you felt as though you are under-qualified to do your proposed project? I was completely confident while filling out my application. Loved every aspect of my proposal and was so excited and ready to carry it out. I didn't doubt for a second that I couldn't do it--but this waiting process has me thinking if I'm being a bit pretentious. What makes me think I'm qualified enough to do research in another country as a graduating senior out of college. Maybe it's just the nerves talking :/
  19. Good luck! I hope you exams go well!
  20. Congrats to everyone finding out!!
  21. Oh cool--going for your second fulbright, very impressed! Yea, my first time back to ethiopia i was sick for a month...so if I get the award I'm praying for good health!!
  22. Really interesting topic! Wishing you all the best! I've been there once--my research deals with assessing the psychosocial factors that cause women to get obstric fistula. Wow have fun in Ethiopia! My mom will be there next week as well!
  23. So great, me too!! Full grant to Ethiopia. Have you been to Congo before? What's your project if you don't mind me asking?
