Yes, they do :/ I've gotten one rejection already from Tulane, and they do rolling admission. Also, you can also look at the results page and see both rejections and acceptances start coming in around the same time...

How Are You Coping With The Torture Of Waiting???
faithfullywaiting replied to PsycD's topic in Waiting it Out
Ugh this is me. I want to quit my job so bad but I'm putting it off until I get accepted somewhere :/ -
Do they really google applicants? I really hope so because that would actually help my application
-
I am in the same boat. But know that you can submit your FAFSA by just saying that you "will file" and just estimate the numbers for now and submit it. Then go back once you have all your tax information later and update it on your fafsa.

Ditto to everything everyone said...this wait is brutal. But i did recently decided to foster two puppies and I bought a bunch of books that I've been wanting to read...that's helped keep me distracted! -
When did you apply and when are you hearing back?

It will probably quiet over here until late february..... -
@AWall2014 your avatar means everything to me! My summer plans:if accepted I will continue at my current job until august and then move. If rejected....I have no clue. I haven't thought that far ahead. I'm taking this thing one day at a time.

So from what I've read--Graduate school applicants are only eligible for loans through FAFSA? Is it worth filing before even getting admitted anywhere??
-
Wow so glad I logged on today--I totally forgot about fafsa! Thank You!!

I called SOPHAS about the same thing! They said as long as you submit by the deadline you are fine. It takes SOPHAS a little longer to mail them out because they have set dates on when they mail out applications. I submitted 11/29, but SOPHAS didn't mail them out until 12/12 (and one of my deadlines were 12/1). You're fine -

Sh*t people say when you are applying to grad school
faithfullywaiting replied to Clou12's topic in Waiting it Out
Oh and another one.... Mom: People keep asking me what you are studying? Can you explain it to me Mom: You should have stuck with Pharmacy. It's easier to explain... Me: *walks out of room* This happens at least every 4-5 months -

This entire forum made my day!!! Recent conversation I had with my mom: Me: Mom I finally submitted my grad school application! Mom: when do you hear back? Me: not until march Mom: Oh wow...hey there's something I want to talk to you about (said this in a super serious voice...sat me down and everything) Me:...oh no what's wrong? (heart is racing-thinking someone died) Mom: Nothing is wrong, hun you know that you won't stay young forever...and you know...marriage & babies.... Me: Ma are you serious right now? I'm having an existential crisis as I apply to graduate school and you want to ask me this? **Please tell me why me settling down is more important than my graduate school applications? Oh and I'm only 22 wtf -

no worries at all--everyone is entitled to their opinion & you were just giving out advice based on your experience -
Global Health/International Health
faithfullywaiting replied to faithfullywaiting's topic in Public Health Forum
@neurosiMRI well said & you should consider a global health certificate--I know a lot of people really enjoy it! @liveinlearn it's not always about "marketing" yourself. I would never enter a program just so I could look good to future employers-I'm going to grad school because I care about an issue and I'm interested in researching said issue. Don't underestimate global health programs, yes they are broad--but honestly so is ever other mph program. And most health policy programs have a U.S. policy focus :/ -
Global Health/International Health
faithfullywaiting replied to faithfullywaiting's topic in Public Health Forum
Not everyone is interested in diseases/medicine--which is why an mph in global health is great because its for those whose focus is policy/management/education/community health/etc etc. Plus most Global Health department have multiple programs and will allow you to focus on your specific interests. Yes it's broad--but that just means you can make it to be whatever you want based on you research interests. -

Hey! Those are great! I didn't even know those school's had Global health programs! I should look into them. I'm interested in International Heath systems & Policy. I applied to UW, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Tulane, GWU for Global Health. And then I applied to Michigan for their HPM program and like you I hope to get a Global health certificate. -
Did anyone apply to Global Health programs for Fall 2014? If so, what programs and what are you hoping to concentrate in?
