  1. I spoke to someone who said the program is 53 credits total (if you already have the pre-reqs). I'm guessing with yearly increases (and since it's like $1367/credit), it will average to about $1400/credit. That's about $74,200. That's actually less than Northwestern, and comparable to another state school I'm looking at.
  2. Thanks for the info! Did the Financial Aid give any indication on the exact cost of this program?
  3. When I calculated the NYU tuition, it seemed lower ($75K total). But I may need to recalculate. This $68,000 figure (I have the same amount, as well) may include money for living expenses - I think grad school loans factor that in.
  4. Ooh, good detective work. I hope that's the case this year too!
  5. By the way, I posted to the NY/NJC Schools thread about NYU - let me know your thoughts!
  6. Hi all - I am considering attending the luncheon, though I too have a full day of class on Thursdays - but I'm thinking this is the next couple years of your life - may be worth it?? If not I am going to try to go another day, and I'd also be curious about the individual tours. But this event definitely seems like the best time to meet the faculty and get a tour of the clinic.
  7. Hi all! I also got into NYU. Does anyone plan to go to the admitted students event on April 4? I'd have to fly in and miss class (I'm doing a post-bacc year right now), and I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I've never visited, though, and would like to get a feel for the program. It's odd, because there are a few posts floating around Grad Cafe and that Speech Pathology "live journal" site (http://speechpathology.livejournal.com/) that seem to question the reputation of NYU - I think one post suggested it was in danger of losing its accreditation. I can't seem to get any specifics, though!! The website and the webinar I attended make the program seem really great - so I can't figure out what that's about. Has anyone else seen this/does anyone know more about this? Lastly - I called Hunter College to ask about notification timing, and the girl who answered told me "I think I heard in late April." Obviously, that's after the April 15 deadline! How does everyone plan to handle this? I guess just put down the $500 deposit at NYU, and if I get into CUNY, take the loss? By the way - congrats to all on NYU - perhaps we'll be classmates!
  8. I did not receive an email, FYI.
  9. Aw, thanks! Yup, it was posted on ApplyYourself. I saw a link that said: "Your application decision is now available online." I clicked it, and saw the rejection letter. Boo!
  10. My decision was just posted - rejected! Luckily I'm in at two other schools I'm excited about, but it's still a bummer.
  11. I applied to SFSU and have heard nothing yet! Has anyone visited that program? I drove around the campus one Sunday when I was in the area (before I was even sure I was applying), but I did not get a chance to visit the department or meet any of the professors. If anyone has more details, I'd love to hear them.
  12. I was accepted into the Core program, and it's definitely high on my list (though I still have 5 of 7 to hear back from). I have also visited Seattle just once, but loved it. I'm sure you could find good housing on Craigslist. Has anyone visited the school/department? I've heard amazing things, but would love to get a better feel for the clinic, classrooms, etc. I may have to go visit... Also... has anyone heard about scholarships yet?
